How these numbers are made

Active Vacancies collects jobs directly from employers' own hiring systems (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and public-sector portals) and removes them when they close. "Open roles" counts listings live on the date shown. "New roles" uses the employer's posting date where it is published, otherwise the date we first saw the job. Team and city counts use the same matching as our job directory, so a role can count in more than one team.
