Role Description & Requirements

To make electronics, you need chips, wafers, transistors, reticles, and... To make these, you must see, test and manufacture them at scale—faster and better than ever before. That's where KLA comes in. Whether you're early in your career or an experienced professional, you'll solve complex challenges, work alongside brilliant minds and help shape the future of technology.

Group/Division

The Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds and sells KLA’s product portfolio to help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards to enable technologies like AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. Our inspection, metrology, and analytics systems detect and monitor defects across logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. We also develop technologies for specialty processes, IC substrates, and PCB manufacturing, including etch and deposition, component inspection, and imaging and analytics.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise.

Position Overview

We are looking for a senior Applications Development Engineer to join our global CAPRES team, responsible for supporting customers across Asia, including Taiwan, with a primary focus on leading logic and memory customers alongside other key regional accounts.

In this role, you will drive strategic application engagement, customer coordination, and regional application direction for advanced electrical and magnetic metrology solutions. Working closely with technical engagement leadership, regional teams, and CAPRES headquarter, you will help define customer priorities, guide application activities, and ensure alignment between customer needs, regional execution, and future product direction.

A key part of this role is to drive new customer penetration across the region. In parallel, you will increase adoption at existing customers by enabling new applications and expanding use cases, thereby increasing tool utilization and supporting additional tool demand.

This position also offers the opportunity to grow into a regional leadership role, including potential future responsibility for leading a team of application engineers.

Job Description

    • Act as a senior technical interface for customers, providing high-level application guidance, escalation support, and technical coordination across multiple engagements
    • Guide and support regional application engineers in the execution of on-site evaluations, application deployment, troubleshooting, and use case implementation
    • Capture customer requirements, technical challenges, and future technology needs, and translate them into clear recommendations for CAPRES headquarter regarding tool and software improvements
    • Coordinate cross-functional activities between customers, regional teams, and CAPRES headquarter to ensure effective execution and alignment of application priorities
    • Provide technical leadership within the regional team, including mentoring, knowledge sharing, and driving consistency in application approach and quality
    • Contribute to regional engagement planning by helping prioritize opportunities, customer focus areas, and application development direction
