Role Description & Requirements

Reviews scopes of work and prepare solicitation packages and requests for proposals, qualifications, and information.
Recommends pricing methodology, review draft of technical specifications, and rewrite where appropriate to eliminate ambiguities, conflicts, and misunderstandings.
Assists with review of work performed by district staff for accuracy and conformance to contracting and regulatory procedures.
Prepare, plan, and conduct negotiations or participate in negotiating terms for new work, changes and negotiate contracting matters within dollar values; and prepare records of negotiations.
Prepare recommendation and documents presented to the Board of Trustees for approval.
Takes a leadership role in teaching, monitoring, and executing workloads as a team leader for procurement services.
Acts as a primary point of contact and build relationships for assigned district departments in need of services.
Assist buyers in the effective daily operations of job responsibilities.
Serve as the first point of contact for problem resolution for the department.
Review all proposals and board documents for content and accuracies for the assigned team department.
Assists with contract compliance, contract close-out, renewal or extensions of current contracts.
Review and approve purchase orders/transactions with proper consideration given to quality, price and delivery within proper procedures, policies, and requirements
Provides support for the District’s small business participation goals
Keep abreast of legal requirements and regulations of purchasing for school districts including such federal, state, county, and city laws as may apply.
