At Wellesbourne CE Primary School, we believe that healthy, nutritious meals are an important part of helping children learn, thrive and achieve their best. We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and hardworking Kitchen Assistant / Assistant Cook to join our friendly catering team.

Working alongside our Cook and school staff, you will help prepare and serve delicious meals for approximately 150 pupils each day, creating a positive dining experience that supports the wellbeing of our children.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing and cooking food to a high standard.
• Supporting the daily operation of a busy school kitchen.
• Serving meals and helping children make healthy food choices.
• Monitoring and recording food and equipment temperatures.
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Washing kitchen equipment, utensils and catering areas.
• Receiving and storing food deliveries.
• Assisting with stock control and ordering supplies.
• Supporting pupils with dietary requirements and special diets.
• Contributing ideas for menus and service improvements.
• Ensuring all health, safety and food hygiene procedures are followed.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Has previous catering or kitchen experience.
• Enjoys working as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Takes pride in preparing quality food and maintaining high standards.
• Has good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Understands the importance of food hygiene and health and safety requirements.
• Is organised, reliable and able to follow procedures accurately.
• Enjoys working in a school environment and values the wellbeing of children.
• Shares our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
